kerribana kindergarten (leneva)

***UPDATE*** With genuine regret, the Alpine Children’s Services (ACS) Board has decided not to proceed as the Approved Provider for Kerribana Kindergarten (Leneva).

Since being named the preferred provider, we worked through lease and licensing negotiations in good faith. During this process, it was confirmed that, due to changes in Commonwealth funding policy, the service would not be eligible for the Commonwealth Child Care Subsidy (CCS). Without CCS, the service could operate only as a sessional kindergarten, incurring significant financial losses. As a community not-for-profit service, ACS must manage its resources carefully to continue supporting children, families, and staff in the long term. We also ensure that each service is financially sustainable on its own terms – it is not equitable for families from one service to offset a loss in another. With that responsibility in mind, we cannot take on this service.

We understand this is disappointing. Please be aware that we are working closely with the Department of Education to identify an alternative provider and minimise any impact on families and children, with the aim of the new provider commencing the service from Term 1, 2026.
